Kaala, a Tamil film directed by Pa Ranjith and starring Rajinikanth, was recently released worldwide. The film received a huge response and was appreciated by the critics as one of the best films in Rajinikanth’s career. Kaala is produced by Dhanush and its music was composed by Santhosh Narayan. The film casts veteran popular Bollywood actor Nana Patekar as the antagonist, and Samuthirakani, Easwari Rao and Huma Qureshi in supporting roles. It was released at the end of April and is the first Indian film to be released in Saudi Arabia.
Though many of the audience watched Kaala in theatres, the film deserves a second-time watch. Many of the audience too may have felt it but couldn’t fulfil their wish because of obvious reasons. The movie is now available on YuppFlix for all the fans who have missed the film in theatres and the ones that want to watch it twice. If you’re still unsure as to why you need to watch the film, here are some reasons to compel you to watch it as soon as you can.
Let’s face it. We all love Thalaivar. We love to watch him perform on screen. We love his styles and dialogue delivery and we love the way he presents himself to the world. His philanthropic works aside, Rajinikanth is a Nationwide superstar for a reason and this reason is the one that excites everyone about his films.
Old. We know. But the rise of a man of masses over a person of power for a bunch of poor people- what’s not to love in that? It can be said that it is the secret dream of every Indian to be like that. In a way, one would be watching himself on the screen, speaking his mind, and fighting just like he would. This is the kind of resonance a movie is supposed to generate. Period.
Yeah, Kabali wasn’t up to expectations, but the film had a punch in it. It portrayed a Super Star the way he had to be portrayed and that is the kind of thing a director needs to be a savant in, especially when dealing with someone with the reputation like Rajinikanth. And given the ratings, we think he had been more than successful in his job.
He’s a Legend. With a lightning-fast dialogue delivery that still is understandable to the ordinary person, with an authentic style that is his own and with an unscathed emotion that provokes just the right chord, Nana Patekar’s portrayal of a gangster turned Politician “Hari Dhadha” is a spectacle. Missing that will be missing out a lot.
The raps that resonated with every South Indian’s heart in Kabali are back and with more. The background music that amplifies the emotions at the right times, the unavoidable rosy melodies that make you hum for no reason, Santhosh Narayan had given his all in the film. Listening to them in your home and tapping your feet along sounds like a good idea. Doesn’t it?
